"Your trip made easy"
Hello Fellow Traveler,
Do you purchase travel insurance? Yes? That's great! No? Well here are some reasons why you should:
Your provincial medical services plan will only pay the equivalent of what they pay provincially. For example, an office visit costs $30.15, that is what they would pay towards a similar service. A trip to the ER here in BC may cost MSP $130.00, whereas if you need to go to the ER in the US - well a quick google search tells us that the average cost of an ER visit is $2200.00! That carecard in your wallet is not going to help you out.
"Oh, but I have coverage through my credit card", you say. Well, let's have a look at that. Are you covered for trip cancellation prior to departure? What are the terms and conditions? Are there limitations due to age, length of stay, or amount of coverage per person? What if there is loss of employment for yourself or your spouse?
Does it cover trip interruption if you must return home immediately due to a family emergency, illness or death?
If you need emergency treatment, do you have to pay at your destination or does the insurance provider (your credit card) take care of it?
These are some of the many questions to ask yourself. Travel with confidence knowing you have travel insurance protection in the event of an unexpected emergency, and make sure you are fully protected before and during your trip.
